Smart Lens

"Smart lens surgery is performed using the phacoemulsification method. It's a preferred treatment technique for eye diseases like cataracts. This technique involves replacing the eye's natural lens with a prosthetic lens. The procedure removes the clouded natural lens from its capsule and replaces it with an artificial lens. A person who undergoes smart lens treatment largely eliminates the need for glasses or contact lenses."

Cataract Surgery

"This procedure involves implanting an artificial lens that provides clearer vision. A small incision is made to access the eye. The cataract is emulsified and cleaned using a device called a phacoemulsification machine, also known as stitchless laser surgery, and a new lens is inserted. High-frequency ultrasonic energy is used. The artificial lens is permanent and significantly improves vision."

Laser Eye Surgery

This successful refractive surgery eliminates the need for glasses and lenses. It's used to treat myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. It delivers successful results even for high prescriptions, allowing patients to completely get rid of glasses or lenses. It's performed in two different methods: with and without corneal incision. Methods Involving Corneal Incision LASIK: This method involves making a thin incision in the front of the cornea, applying laser treatment underneath, and then closing the flap. Femto LASIK: This method uses a laser to create a thin flap on the cornea's surface, and then laser treatment is applied underneath. SMILE: This method involves making a small arc-shaped incision on the cornea's surface. The lenticule is removed through this incision. Removing the tiny lenticule corrects myopia by changing the shape of the cornea. No-Touch Method (No Corneal Contact) This method involves no contact with the front of the eye. Energy-charged light waves vaporize and eliminate irregularities in the transparent layer. It smooths out surface irregularities by scanning the front of the eye. This is a fast method and delivers successful results even for very high prescriptions. It's advantageous for people with very thin corneas because it doesn't require corneal incision. It's also highly advantageous for patients with severe dry eye.

Strabismus (Crossed Eyes) Surgery

  • It helps to eliminate strabismus.
  • After the conjunctiva membrane is opened and the muscles that allow the eye to move inward and outward are accessed, the eye muscles are either strengthened or weakened.
  • This procedure is performed based on the size, type, and angle of the strabismus.
  • It can be applied to both children and adults.

Glaucoma (Eye Pressure) Surgery

  • It is used when intraocular pressure cannot be reduced with medication.
  • It eliminates the need for medications related to living.
  • It is a procedure that prevents further damage to the optic nerves.

Trabeculectomy:

  • This is a procedure in glaucoma treatment where a part of the trabecular meshwork and adjacent structures of the eye are removed to reduce intraocular pressure.
  • It is the most common glaucoma surgery performed.

Ahmed Valve:

  • It is used when traditional glaucoma surgery fails.
  • It involves placing a silicone channel into a hole created to prevent further damage to the optic nerve.
  • With the help of the channel, the eye pressure does not drop to zero, but it remains controlled and does not rise.

SLT (Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty):

  • It is used in open-angle glaucoma.
  • A low dose of laser energy is directed to blocked canals, and cells containing pigment (melanin) are destroyed.
  • This helps to reduce intraocular pressure.

It is a frequently preferred procedure especially for people who have visual impairment due to cataracts. These lenses, which are placed in the eye with cataract surgery and become permanent, seriously improve people’s vision.

This procedure is applied for the treatment of refractive errors such as myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. In the applied method, the lens inside the eye is removed and replaced with a lens with multiple focus capabilities.

The smart lens application is a permanent treatment for a lifetime. Different lenses are used according to the patient’s eye condition, preferences and daily activities.

After cataract surgery, the eye should not be pressed for the first 2-3 days and any possible impacts to the eye should be avoided.
In addition, after the surgery, it is necessary not to lie on the side of the eye that was operated on for the first 2 nights.
On the other hand, water should not be touched to the eye for 5 days.

Although cataracts affect vision to different degrees, they usually occur in one eye. Even if this is not the case and if they occur in both eyes, surgery is not performed on both eyes at the same time.

If the patient’s eye structure is suitable, eye resection operations are preferred with the lasik laser method up to 8-10 numbers for myopes, up to 5 numbers for mixed astigmatism, and up to 5 numbers for hyperopia.

If deemed appropriate; in light of the information from the first operation, the old valve is lifted without cutting and a second laser operation can be performed.

There is no age limit for strabismus surgery. It can be performed at any age from infancy to advanced age.

Mostly, the squint does not recur after surgery. However, in some variable cases, it has been observed that the squint occurs again after strabismus surgery.

The duration of strabismus surgery varies depending on the number of muscles intervened.
The surgery is usually completed in an average of 1 hour.
You can return to normal life 6-7 days after the surgery.
The redness in the eye after the surgery lasts for about 3-4 weeks.
This condition decreases with the use of drops.

The main source of glaucoma surgery risks is that the surgery is applied to patients in the final stage. Surgery is risky for this reason, but blindness is inevitable if surgery is not performed.

Post-operative recovery takes at least 2-3 weeks.

It is stopped with vitrectomy surgery. In this surgery, very thin instruments are inserted into the eye and the gel material of the eye and bleeding are cleaned. In addition, this method provides treatment for additional problems such as tears and detachment.
