Prof. Dr. Bülent Düz graduated from Istanbul Pertevniyal High School in 1987 and attended the Gülhane Military Medical Academy (GATA) with a European Neurosurgery certificate. Between 1997 and 2002, he worked as an assistant at the Gülhane Military Medical Academy Neurosurgery clinic, and for the next two years, he was the service chief of the Neurosurgery clinic at Izmir Mevki Military Hospital. He completed EANS (European Courses in Neurosurgery) courses between 2001 and 2004. He received training in endoscopic pituitary surgery and skull base surgery between 2004 and 2005 alongside Prof. Dr. Amin Kassam at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). He passed the Turkish Neurosurgical Society proficiency written exam in 2008, the “EANS Part 1 European neurosurgical examination” written exam held in Prague in 2009, and the “EANS Part 2 Oral examination” held in Germany in 2010 and received the European Neurosurgery certificate. Between 2006 and 2010, Prof. Dr. Bülent Düz worked as an assistant professor at the GATA Neurosurgery Clinic in Ankara, and between 2010 and 2012, he worked as an assistant professor at the GATA Neurosurgery Clinic in Ankara. He was the Istanbul GATA Haydarpaşa Neurosurgery Service Chief from 2012 to 2016, and since 2016, he has been a Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Sağlık Bilimleri.
